Nashville-based singer-songwriter Olivia Lane dressed in her Draper James best for her performance at CMA Fest. See what this one-to-watch has to say about performing at one of country music’s most popular annual festivals.
Highlights of CMA Fest for you. . . As a performer?
I love the energy of the entire week. So many people from all over the world come to celebrate country music! As a performer, I love connecting with the fans. I did a good amount of events and I would see the same fans over and over. It’s such a fun experience!
As a spectator?
I love watching both new artists and friends perform. There’s constantly something going on, so you will never be bored.
What do you love about living in Nashville?
I love how nice everyone is here. It’s so easy to meet people, and there’s always something to do every night of the week.
Can you share a few favorite spots?
I love hiking at Percy Warner Park. My favorite bar is Winners (it’s always good time, and you can hit up Losers and Red Door for late-night afterwards). For a splurge, I love to eat at Moto.
What’s the most exciting thing going on in “Southern” music right now?
There are so many other genres influencing country music right now. I think it’s awesome and it challenges artists and songwriters to make some really cool art.
How do you choose your concert outfits? What drew you to the Draper James pieces you wore?
I love things that flatter my waist. My favorite color is blue, so I try to wear blue a lot. The Draper James Oak Hill Vine Love Circle Dress was perfect for one of my acoustic performances because it looked great from stage and it flattered my shape.
You have so many exciting things going on professionally! If you had to pick, what are you most excited about right now?
I’m so excited to come out with my new EP. It’s dropping July 29th. I’ve been working really hard over the last year-and-a-half writing, and this will be the first project that I’ve come out with in awhile. I’ll also be touring as much as possible.
