When Spoleto—the legendary performing arts festival that takes place in Charleston every year—kicked off at the end of May, many attendees were already looking forward to the Finale. That’s not to say they wanted to rush through the dozens of notable theater, music, and dance performances that light up the Holy City for 17 days each spring; it’s simply that the Spoleto Finale is always such a memorable show.
Naturally, this year was no exception. “The Spoleto Finale was a blast and drew a huge crowd, as usual,” said Margaret Ward Rogers and Brooke Kiernan McCallion, Draper James ambassadors who attended Spoleto this year. “Middleton Place is a gorgeous historic estate, so it makes for a very picturesque venue. All the bands put on a great show—especially the headliner, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. The evening was topped off with an amazing fireworks show—a great way to end the 2016 Festival!”
Dressed in Draper James, Margaret and Brooke attended the Finale with Spoleto SCENE, a young patrons group that hosted a party during the Finale. “The SCENE party area looked wonderful. It was filled with summery sunflowers and black-and-white checkered blankets and pillows for comfortable picnic seating.”
