DJ Reads: Monograms for the Home

Monograms for the Home suggests countless ways to incorporate your personal logo, from cocktail napkins to mint julep cups. (Model is wearing our Embellished Gingham Button Down.)

Southerners are known for saying that if it’s not moving, monogram it! Kimberly Schlegel Whitman certainly lives by that adage. Her beautiful tabletop book, titled Monograms for the Home, is a unique history of the monogram in design and a guide for how and where to elegantly style your own.

Buy the book at our Draper James Nashville boutique and on our website and hear from Kimberly here:

Monograms are quintessentially Southern because. . .

We value the history and personality of the items in our home. We love that our initials can personalize a piece and we cherish our monogrammed heirlooms.

You hosted a book signing at the Draper James store. What was that like?

It was a blast!  I loved seeing the store and it was so much fun to have some old friends there and meet new ones.  Nashville is wonderful and I was so grateful to have some time there.

A few of your favorite ways to incorporate a monogram?

I love monogrammed tissue holders. I know it seems silly, but I have them next to every bed in my house! I also love pretty waste bins with a monogram.
