Outtakes from our Draper James whiskey tasting. All by Amy Cherry.

We’ve got whiskey tastings covered, from how to decorate, to what to eat, to what to wear and serve for dessert. Now comes the the ultra-important part: which whiskeys to serve.

Katie Jacobs, who co-hosted our whiskey tasting with us, recommends the list below. “These are some great whiskeys for including in a tasting,” she says. “They boast a variety of flavors and are at all ends of the spectrum when it comes to price.”

“When serving, start with the lighter, milder whiskies while your taste buds are still unaffected and can better detect the subtle aromas,” suggests Katie. “Then proceed to the stronger whiskies, as their aroma often still lingers in the mouth long after the tasting and affects everything you try afterwards.”
