We’ve been in Lexington, Kentucky at The Summit at Fritz Farm for a few months now.
It’s been full of fun times, horse races, and all of the amazing food Lexington has to offer.
But because there are so many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we went to an expert to make sure our palates got the best of the best.
Erin Hilton of VisitLEX knows the ins and outs of Lexington cuisine, which she describes as “innovative, multi-cultural, and explosive,” so it made perfect sense to have her create a bucket list of the five meals you shouldn’t miss in the Horse Capitol of the World.
As for how she chose them, she said, “We let the restaurateurs take free reign in the selection process. Some of them knew the signature dish they wanted to submit while others chose a dish that best showcases the local cuisine that they’re so proud of.”
According to Erin, “Lexington was doing farm-to-table before farm-to-table was a thing,” so you can be sure each of these meals will be delectable and fresh.
1. Sweet Potato Beignets from Honeywood
2. Hog Chop from Lockbox at 21c Museum Hotel Lexington
3. Guacamole and Crudites + Prickly Pear Margarita from Corto Lima
4. Kentucky Signature Stew from Dudley’s on Short
5. Smoked Pork Belly Pibil Tacos from County Club
