DJ Dressed with The Perennial Style: Janie Flowers

You know the saying that if you find something you love, you should stick with it? That’s what we feel about classic shades of blue, floral prints, and feminine silhouettes—and so it’s no surprise you’ll see them all over our new Draper James Pre-Spring collection.

It’s also how we feel about Dallas fashion blog The Perennial Style. Each of the three sisters who pen The Perennial Style is chic in her own right—worthy, we believed, of a feature of her own on our Love, Reese blog.

On Wednesday, we showcased oldest sister Blair Flowers Butler in our Ottoman Stripe Sweater Jacket; yesterday, we introduced middle sister Ellen Flowers in our Botanical Floral Shirtdress; and today, we cap it off with youngest sister Janie Flowers, who models our Botanical Floral Button Down. (We’ve also included some pics of all three gorgeous sisters posing together in their coordinated ensembles.)

Read on for a bit from Janie.

In 15 words or less, describe your personal style.
Preppy, classic, and comfortable.

How do you think your style stands out from that of your sisters?
My style has always been about comfort. I love dressing up, but it has to be comfortable, too!

What drew you to the Draper James Botanical Floral Button Down and how did you style it?
I love pieces that I can wear multiple ways, so I was immediately drawn to this blouse. I paired it with white jeans and nude pumps for a classic spring look, but I love how I can wear it with a cute pencil skirt to dress it up or pair it with distressed skinnies and ballet flats for a casual twist.

Any style tips or rules you can share about dressing for this time of year?
Layers. In the South the weather can change on a dime. One day it will snow in Dallas and the next day it’s 70 degrees, so layering is key!

How would you describe Dallas style?
Dallas is all about dressing up and always looking your best. As a girl in my mid-twenties, I can’t think of a better place to live!

What’s your favorite “Southernism”?
“Bless your heart.”
