It’s no secret our founder and creative director, Reese Witherspoon, is a force to be reckoned with.
Her other titles include mother, daughter, wife, actress, producer, and entrepreneur.
But way back in 2014, before Draper James was born, Reese had an idea to start a fashion brand all about the grace and charm of the South.
Since then, Reese and the Draper James team have made dresses upon dresses, designed the iconic Totes Y’all Vanderbilt Tote, and brought all things Southern into homes around the world.
To celebrate our anniversary (officially three years since we launched!), we asked Reese a couple of questions about the history of Draper James.
Hear from Reese below!
What’s the most crucial lesson you’ve learned since starting Draper James?
Reese: Always listen to the customer!
The people who love the brand are the ones who drive the creative and design choices. Everything we do is in service of our customers.
What’s been your favorite Draper James moment over the last few years?
Reese: I loved the store opening in Nashville because it’s my hometown, and I got to see great people like Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Kacey Musgraves, Lee Ann Womack, and Ruby Amanfu come out to celebrate.
Nashville is such a supportive community; it was a reminder of how everyone comes together to help one another.
