Meet Chassity Aull Evans.

She’s the founder of the blog Look Linger Love and a resident of Charleston, South Carolina.

She’s also a homeowner in the Bahamas — Harbour Island, to be exact.

Lovingly named Coral House, the Evans’ Bahamas beach cottage is quite literally a dream come true. Located right on Bay Street, the house offers views of the bay off the upstairs balcony, and you’re only a few minutes away from the picturesque pink beaches.

We couldn’t help but fall in love with the architecture, cheery furnishings (lots of #DraperJamesBlue), and overall beachy aesthetic of the cottage, so we chatted with Chassity to hear more about her home away from home (which, lucky for all of us, is available to rent).

We know Harbour Island is absolutely gorgeous… but why did you choose this particular location?

We fell in love with Harbour Island when my husband and I first vacationed there a few years back. There’s pink sand, clear blue water, historic colorful cottages, friendly people, and Goombay Smashes. What’s not to love?

Plus, it’s fairly easy to get to Harbour Island from the East Coast.

Could you give us a little history on the cottage?

Coral House (named because it’s pink) was built in the mid 1800s. We when bought it last year, it was only two bedrooms. Together with our architect Beau Clowney, we added 2 more bedrooms, a pool, and adjusted the flow of the home.

Do you have a favorite spot in the cottage?

My favorite spot in Coral House is the kitchen. It’s bright and cheery and really fits the mood of the island.

What was the inspiration behind the interior design?

I really wanted the interior of Coral House to feel beachy, relaxed, and open. It’s light and bright with doors in nearly every room that can be opened so that you can listen to the roosters on the island.

The walls and floors are painted white, but there is plenty of color brought in with art, rugs, fabrics, and even light fixtures.

Is there any similarities between the cottage and your home in South Carolina?

Our Charleston home and Coral House are very similar in that they are both very open, light filled, and have relaxed vibes.

I worked with many of my favorite artists and brands on both of the homes: Lulie Wallace, Stray Dog Design, Annie Selke, Biscuit Home, Chambers Austelle…

What do you think is the one thing every vacation/beach home should have?

The one thing that I think every beach home should have is comfortable bedrooms. The whole point of getting away is to relax and rewind! There is so much to do on Harbour Island (pink sand beaches, amazing boutiques, all the island restaurants) that a good night’s rest is key 🙂

And the little details are important, too. All of the hand soaps at Coral House sport our logo, which was designed by 42 Pressed, and were made in collaboration with the Old Whaling Co!

And we’re just  getting started… I can’t wait to come up with other ideas for our logo.
