Annie Cambell’s Mint Gimlet Recipe

brunch julep(makes eight cocktails)

For the mint simple syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Handful of fresh mint

For the cocktail:
3/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
3/4 cup mint simple syrup
1 1/2 cups vodka
50 fresh mint leaves

Prepare the mint simple syrup:
Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Add the mint and remove from heat. Let cool. The syrup can be covered and refrigerated for up to a month.

Prepare the cocktail:
Combine the lime juice, simple syrup, vodka, and mint in a pitcher and stir well. Pour over ice and enjoy!
