We challenged Marlien Rentmeester of Le Catch to come up with three holiday-ready ways to style our Henrietta Bow-Tie Top. This first look is all about comfort—perfect for a brunch with friends. Photos by Coliena Rentmeester.

The tagline of Le Catch, the fashion blog by Marlien Rentmeester, is “get it before it’s gone.” And indeed you’d better—because as soon as it appears on this ultra-influential site, it’s likely to sell out almost instantly.

Marlien, who grew up in Manhattan and lives in L.A. with her husband and two sons, is known by friends and fans (she’s a regular on street style and party pics) for her flawless personal style.

Her penchant for mixing high and low might have her pairing a designer dress with $17 earrings—yet pulling it all together so glamorously you’d think the whole thing came straight off the runway.

It’s Marlien’s keen eye for fashion that has built Le Catch such a passionate following since the former Conde Nast editor launched her site in 2011. And we’d like to consider ourselves among her biggest fans.

A friend of Reese’s and a supporter of Draper James since day one, Marlien has a knack for making the most enviably chic outfits out of our pieces. Which is why we were so thrilled to see how she styled our Henrietta Bow-Tie Top—in three perfect looks to get you through the holiday season seamlessly.

How will you be spending the holidays?

My children want to be at home on Christmas, lest Santa lose track of their GPS coordinates!

We’ll host family on Christmas morning as per usual for a decadent brunch and take our time (like all day) opening gifts. Then we’ll head to the slopes of Aspen for some skiing and New Year’s revelries!

We challenged you to style a Draper James item in three different ways for the holiday season. What drew you to the Henrietta Bow-Tie Top?

It’s a feminine, versatile blouse and the bow-tie is so right this minute.

This punchy, festive outfit is just right for an office holiday party.

What do you say to women who feel funny about wearing a bow?

No need to wear a bow. Tie a simple knot or leave the ties loose. Just have fun with getting dressed!

You paired navy with a bunch of black here, from shoes to bag to coat. What are the “rules” when it comes to those colors?

I love mixing unexpected colors. If it feels good and looks good, I say go with it.

When you buy a piece of clothing, does it need to be versatile?

I just need to be able to wear a piece more than once!

This third outfit, complete with our Belle Detachable Faux Fur Collar Coat and Floral Quilted Circle Bag, is made for holiday shopping.

Can you describe each of the three looks—how you styled them and where you’d where them?

The first look look is all about comfort! The distressed boyfriend jeans nicely counterbalance the top’s femininity. I left the top’s ties loose to play up the laid-back vibe. Just the thing to wear to a casual holiday brunch with friends.

The second outfit is punchy and festive—perfect for an office holiday party. I tied the top in a loose bow to keep things relaxed but still ladylike.

Take me holiday shopping in this third outfit, complete with the cutest Draper James coat and bag! I tied the top around my neck in a French-gamine, day-chic way. Ankle boots and high-waisted cropped jeans allow for major running around!

Who photographed you and where did you shoot?

My twin sister, who is a professional photographer, shot me at her Beverly Hills home.
